"Bliss" Print
What’s a significant event or activity where you felt blissful? “Bliss'' is 30x40” of acrylic paint, marker, and enamel personally answering that exact question on canvas. Imagine you are preparing for what the future holds. Yet, simultaneously releasing the weight and burden of the past. Contemplating rest or to actively appreciate every passing moment of this voyage. So much planning and hard work but the moment is finally here, it's time to unwind and have a seat until responsibility calls again. Sure to sit by a window, gazing out to the world around and feeling the sun's touch. Getting higher and higher by the moment, until you reach a peak altitude. When you are this high you no longer look up to see the clouds, instead you look down. But this high, they resemble mountains. An area off in the distance flashes rapidly, was that lightning? In fact it is. In this moment you become aware that there is an entire thunderstorm happening, and an aggressive one it seems. As odd of a view it is, the feeling isn’t new. In fact it feels really familiar. To be aware of all the dangers around, and accept them as they are. To not fear in the face of danger. To choose to not care and continue to move as if you never noticed the danger. That following moment is full of bliss. You notice that all those previous feelings are emotions you attached to the situation, and choosing to work past them is the best thing to do. Let it all come and go, accept things for what they are. The world is endless, if you attach yourself to it all then your worries will also be endless. Stay present, and leave the past in the past. The plane lands and it is time to turn theory to practice.
